New Mexican native and celebrated Mariachi vocalist, Antonio Reyna has captivated audiences across the southwest, west coast and Mexico. He is one of New Mexico’s most beloved and most awarded Mariachi vocalists and has influenced the footprint of traditional Mariachi music through his performances. In his over two decade career, he has garnered numerous awards by the New Mexico Hispano Music Association and the New Mexico Hispano Entertainers Association, performed in some of the most beautiful Theaters across the Southwest and has shared the stage with some of Mariachi Music’s most respected Legends and artists. Antonio has become, in his own right, one of his Genre’s well known and respected New Mexican interpreters.
Born in 1974 in Gallup, NM, Antonio Reyna’s career as a mariachi vocalist began in 1996 after he was discovered by former Action 7 News Anchor and Mariachi vocalist, Nelson Martinez. The duo toured together for several years before Reyna went solo in 2002 and released his first solo album “Con Mis Propias Manos.” In 2003, Reyna was invited by Mariachi music legend, Chelo to perform at the 13th Annual Mariachi Spectacular in Albuquerque, NM. The same year Reyna was awarded “Male Vocalist of the Year”, “Ranchera Song of the Year” and “Upcoming Artist of the Year” by the New Mexico Hispano Music Association.
In 2006, Reyna released his second album “En El Camino Andamos.” The album was recorded with Mariachi arranger and trumpeter, Jose Luis Salinas and California Mariachi group, Mariachi Las Adelitas de Jose Luis Salinas and produced by Diego Casillas in East Los Angeles, CA. By 2010 Reyna released his third album, “Canasta De Sueños.”The same year, Reyna performed with Beatriz Adriana at the Annual Univision Father’s Day celebration in Albuquerque, NM. Reyna also opened for Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, The World’s Best Mariachi, at the Santa Fe Opera House.
2011 marked Reyna’s 15th year as a performer and he was awarded the 2011 “Male Vocalist of the Year” award by the New Mexico Hispano Entertainers Association. Reyna also won “Mariachi of the Year”, “Ranchera Song of the Year” and “Original Song of the Year” by the New Mexico Hispano Music Association.
In 2015 and 2016, Reyna’s performance at the Festival Cultural de Lola Beltrán in El Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico marked the most important appearances of his career. The performances were a tribute to Reyna’s idol, Lola Beltrán. In 2017, Reyna was invited as a special guest Headliner for the Festival where he shared the stage and spotlight with Alberto Angel “El Cuervo”, Juan Valentin and his good friend Maria Elena Leal Beltrán, the daughter of the late, great Queen of Ranchera music, Lola Beltrán. He was the solo vocalist for the Noche Bohemia, where he played for friends and family of his Idol, Lola Beltrán. In the audience were also Juan Valentin and his wife, the Presidente Municipal de El Rosario and his beautiful wife as well as other dignitaries and influential business people. He has won the hearts of the People of El Rosario and has been referred to as “Un Hijo Adoptado de El Rosario”, one of El Rosario’s adopted sons, an official designation he received from the Pueblo of El Rosario Government in 2022 and is a title he is most proud of.
2016 marked Reyna’s 20th year as a performer. In April of 2016, he released his first Trio Album, “La Pasíon de mi Padre” with Albuquerque Trio, Trio America de Albuquerque. The album was recorded as a tribute to Reyna’s father who has played an important role in his career as a Mariachi. This has become Antonio’s largest selling album to date both in physical copies and downloaded versions of the disc. Reyna also released a Mariachi album in November of 2016. The album, “Recordando A Jose Alfredo Jimenez”, includes 12 songs written by late Ranchera singer-songwriter, José Alfredo Jiménez including “No Me Amenaces”, “Canta, Canta, Canta”, “La Media Vuelta” and its most successful release, “Un Mundo Raro”, which has been downloaded over 10,000 times to date over a variety of digital platforms since being released. Reyna also received the Top Mariachi honors for the single “El Jinete” at the 26th Annual New Mexico Hispano Music Association Awards Show. A special show was developed to honor Reyna’s musical heritage that featured all his hits from his 5 recordings to date with both Mariachi and Trio. The show also included Mexican Folklore dancing and special guest vocalists who have performed with him throughout his career. Reyna’s 2016 celebratory tour commemorating his 20th year as an artist included performances in the Mexican States of Sonora, Sinaloa & Chihuahua, Mexico; Gallup, NM; Raton, NM; Taos, NM; Silver City, NM; Albuquerque, NM; Tucson, AZ; Fontana, CA; Amarillo, TX, San Antonio TX and Denver, CO to name a few.
In January of 2017 Antonio was honored with a special 20th Anniversary Commemorative video tribute and award by the New Mexico Hispano Music Association in Espanola, NM. Antonio was honored by his musical peers by a standing ovation and thunderous applause as he shared the stage with his beloved Mariachi, solidifying the fact he has become one of New Mexico’s most beloved and respected performers. 2017 introduced Antonio to audiences in San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Chiapas México.
In 2018 Antonio and his husband Joe became the proprietors of JA’z Ranch – a small family Ranch established in the Estancia Valley of New Mexico and currently runs over 30 head of black angus cattle on just shy of 120 acres.
2020 – during the pandemic - saw the release of Antonio’s 6th studio album. He once again teamed up with his producer, Diego Casillas and “Entre El Amor y El Odio” came to life. This album generated 2 more awards for Antonio and produced Antonio’s first #1 Radio single – “Ya Para Que”. This album has 3 original song written for Antonio. Two songs by famed composer, Graciela “Cha Cha” Saavedra: “Moneda Falsa” & “Orgulloso De Mi Herencia” and “No Soy Culpable” by Producer, songwriter, Abel Campos. Antonio’s online success skyrocketed with this production.
In honor of Antonio’s 25th Anniversary as an entertainer in 2021 he released an Album in tribute to his idol, Lola Beltran. Teaming up with Producer German Gutierrez this album was recorded in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco with Mariachi Internacional Guadalajara. “Homenaje A Lola La Grande” contains 12 of Antonio’s favorite Lola Beltran hits interpreted by Antonio. The commercial success of this album went beyond any expectations set and opened doors for Antonio is ways he couldn’t have imagined. With the release of this title, the “Homenaje A Lola La Grande Mariachi Scholarship” was born. It is a scholarship given to New Mexico student Mariachi groups wishing to participate in the Annual Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque, a program Antonio has been involved with since 1993 and a program that has a special place in his heart.

Antonio Reyna was recognized as "El Hijo Adoptado De El Rosario Sinaloa, MX" on Saturday, March 25, 2022 while performing for the Annual Lola Beltran Festival Cultural in her home town of El Rosario Sinaloa. Presented to him by Presidente Municipal Claudia Liliana Valdez Aguilar as well Mario Alberto Tirado Rodriguez and Lola's Nephew Jose Manuel Beltran Ruiz with his lovely daughter at his side.
